Quick general update:
It’s been a little over a month since my twelve hour bus ride down south from Quito, Ecuador. I currently live in a semi-urban community known as Paute within the province of Azuay along with a host family that consists of nephews, a younger brother and sister, a dad, a mom, a grandmother, uncles and aunts, six dogs and some pet chickens and occasional pigs I’d have for my next meal. I spend my Mondays traveling an hour out to the nearest city for Spanish class and the rest of my weekdays co-teaching English at the local high school and independently at the elementary. As far as weekend plans go with my host family, I never know where I’m going until I’m actually there.
