Tilting Futures is hosting its third Global Gathering! Calling all alumni from the Fellowship, Academy, and Take Action Lab – all 2500+ of you from 100+ countries! 

All sessions have been intentionally designed to provide multiple ways for you to connect. We hope you’ll attend as many as possible!

Agenda

⏰ 8am – 9:15am PT: Leadership Dialogues: In conversation with the Senior Leadership Team

We kick off our opening session with speak ups from alumni representing the Global Citizen Year Fellowship, the Global Citizen Year Academy and Take Action Lab! 

Get an exclusive and deeper look into the trajectory of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) of Tilting Futures as they share about their own ‘local change’ to achieve their ‘global vision’.  

This session is moderated by Take Action Lab Spring ‘23 alumni: Christy Nguimbous and Isabella Letona.

⏰ 9:15am – 9:45am PT: Partnership Expo

Our Partnership Expo will highlight the organizations we partner with in order to provide our alumni with exceptional opportunities for learning and growth. 

On June 13th, we’ll be inviting our partner at Baret Scholars to speak more about how our alumni can get involved with their program.

⏰ 9:45am – 10:30am PT: Community Connect: Nostalgia

Community Connects are a chance for alumni to reconnect and get to know each other outside of the session times. 

The Community Connect on June 13th will focus on bringing alumni together from each program for nostalgic conversations about our program experiences: Fellowship, Academy and Take Action Lab.

This session is moderated by Take Action Lab Fall ‘23 alum and Global Gathering Associate: Sibusisiwe Chatima.

 

⏰ 12pm – 1:20pm PT: Mapping Our Social Change Roles for Human Rights

Our speaker, Deepa Iyer, is a South Asian American writer, strategist, lawyer, and racial justice advocate. During her session we will get to learn about the Social Change Ecosystem map she developed to “help individuals, networks, and organizations align with social change values, individual roles, and the broader ecosystem”.

This session will be moderated by Academy Fall ‘22 alum, Sumaiya Imad.

 

⏰ 1:20pm – 1:30pm PT: Partnership Expo

Our Partnership Expo will highlight the organizations we partner with in order to provide our alumni with exceptional opportunities for learning and growth. 

On June 14th, we’ll be inviting our partner at Boulevard Fellows to speak more about how our alumni can get involved with their programs. 

 

⏰ 1:30pm – 2:30pm PT: Community Connect: Well-being

Community Connects are a chance for alumni to reconnect and get to know each other outside of the session times. 

The Community Connect on June 14th will focus on exploring the topic of well-being and the tools we can use to take care of ourselves and each other. 

This session is moderated by India 2018 Fellowship alum: Sophia Alfaro.

 

8am – 9:15am PT: Global Perspectives on Climate Change

A unique opportunity to here extraordinary climate activists to speak about the problem they are solving for!They will speak about their personal initiatives and community’s efforts in the fight against climate change. The panel will be mixed with experts who are both alumni and non-alumni representing the Caribbean, the Pacific, Antarctica, Europe, the African continent, Latin America and South Asia.

This session will be moderated by Newton Mukoya and Tetiana Shevchenko(Take Action Lab Spring ‘23).

 

9:15am – 9:45am PT: Partnership Expo

Our Partnership Expo will highlight the organizations we partner with in order to provide our alumni with exceptional opportunities for learning and growth.

On June 14th Mario Vasilescu from Readocracy will speak to us about the fantastic benefits of being part of readocracy and how you could earn credits! 

We also have another new partnership that we’re launching, and to tell us more about this unique opportunity, will be Letitia Zwickert from MENTEE

 

⏰ 9:45am – 10:30am PT: Community Connect: Networking for Impact

Community Connects are a chance for alumni to reconnect and get to know each other outside of the session times. 

The Community Connect on June 15th will focus on networking and understanding how each of our strengths, skills and stories can support one another along our professional, academic or personal journey.

This session is moderated by Take Action Lab Spring ‘23 alum: Rutendo Kahari.
