THE APPRENTICESHIP
Making a meaningful impact
Senegal Fellows worked alongside members of their community on projects that made a responsible impact. They learned from real world experience in a variety of different apprenticeship sectors like:
- Agriculture
- Education
- Entrepreneurship
- Health
- Media
THE HOMESTAY
No matter where Fellows lived in Senegal, they could expect a warm welcome of teranga. Family is very important in Senegal with remote relatives living together and visiting often. Senegal is a predominantly Muslim nation, with other religions accepted and celebrated. Fellows got to celebrate the numerous religious holidays and festivals – often for days at a time! In addition to French, many Fellows also learned Wolof, Pulaar, or Sérère from their host family.
