India is a country of contrasts. Picture historical architecture amidst cutting edge tech hubs, Starbucks and the roadside chaiwala, all nestled amongst every conceivable landscape. Home to one-sixth of the world’s population, India contains a multitude of ethnic groups, languages, and religions.
During our time in India, we ran programs in two cities: Pune and Hyderabad.
THE APPRENTICESHIP
Assistant teaching with Teach for India
Our Fellows worked as teaching assistants alongside the brightest of India’s youth at Teach for India to help build a wider movement for educational equity.
THE HOMESTAY
Fellows stayed with host families that helped them experience all that India has to offer. There were many opportunities to connect as it’s common for extended families to stay close and share a common household or kitchen. Most Fellows lived with a host family in in lively apartment blocks.
