Hello
First of all, ngā mihi of te tau hou, or in more familiar words to many readers; happy New Years!
I hope 2017 was nothing but kind to you all, and that 2018 proves to be a great year.
It’s been a while since I last wrote anything, mainly because I didn’t know
what to write, a form most commonly known as “writers block”. You see, after
arriving to India, everything seemed so foreign to me, from the mix of
languages, the colours, the heat, the spices and what not. Therefore, it was
easy to pick something to potentially write about, but as I waited and adapted to
the constant honking of cars, odd smells, over packed train rides, street bargaining,
and everything else that makes India, India, I realized that I no longer wanted
to write about those things. Yes, I’ve learnt a lot from what I’ve seen here
but the reality is that I could never prepare you for India through a blog, you
simply have to experience it for yourself. So on that note, I decided to do
something a bit different this time.
I have a few friends back home that I constantly share music with, and I
was recently reminded by a girl I met here in India just how much joy music brings
to people. So as part of the New Year, I thought I’d share some of my
favourites that I had on repeat during 2017. Enjoy.
