Hello, my name is Drew Corrigan and I am from Sisters, Oregon; a small town in the Cascade mountain range. I enjoyed my high school experience quite a lot but near the end I found myself becoming bored. Although I had already committed to University of Vermont and I was very excited to be going there, I decided to go out on a limb and apply at the last minute for a program I knew relatively little about. I am glad I did because now I will be spending the next year in Ecuador and undoubtedly having amazing experiences that will shape the rest of my life. It is exciting to be fully committed to something that is still pretty uncertain. I don’t know where I will be living, what I will be doing and who I will be doing it with. I do know that it will be a great adventure!
So far the most challenging part of preparing for my journey has been staying organized. It has been hard to stay on top of the various deadlines for medical forms, visa applications and immunizations. I only hope that everything will fall into place by the time I am leaving for Ecuador!
Thank you to everyone who is reading this for your support and care! I will keep you updated periodically on my adventures in South America!
Drew
