One of the last things my mom told me before I left for Ecuador was to not come home with a man or a baby. Well I half listened. I do not have a man here. I have a daughter!
Wait
Before you all start panicking and getting plan tickets to Ecuador to punish me. She is only my goddaughter. Her name is Gracia Julieta and she is three months old.
At the birthday party of my four year-old sister we started with a ceremony. My sister was baptized again but this time with her godmother who just married her godfather. After this they baptized Gracia, and I held her; which makes me her godmother. I was surprised and was not in any way expecting it. After words we hugged and everyone applauded.
My parents told me that I am the godmother so that I never forget them and they never forget me. I was grinning from ear to ear. I am thrilled to be the godmother. This is one of the most exciting things that has happened to me in this Gap Year.
