With every new sunrise, there’s laugh, heat and learnings. I feel I can now
assure how essential language is. Without communication, there’s no
interaction, and so there’s no socialisation, inhibiting life in society.
With this feeling of chaos and lack of sense of belonging yet, I realise
how humans are without doubt social beings. Without language, we are alone
with our feelings, ideas and curiosity, entering a state of dissatisfaction
which cannot be supported for long.
“Ndank-ndank” is how they say in Wolof ‘step by step’. With that mentality
I wonder around, searching for understanding my surroundings and my own
self.

Con cada nuevo amanecer, risas, calor y aprendizajes. Comprobé lo
importante que es el lenguaje. Sin lenguaje uno no se comunica. Sin
comunicación, no hay interacción, y no hay por tanto socialización, anulado
la vida en sociedad. Con esta sensación de desconcierto y falta de
pertenencia aún, me doy cuenta de que el ser humano es un ser
indispensablemente sociable. Sin lenguaje uno está solo en sus emociones e
ideas, y no se puede contener tal estado por mucho tiempo.
“Ndank-ndank”, cómo dicen aquí ‘pasito a pasito’. Así deambulo yo, en busca
del entender a mi entorno y a mi propio ser.
