*A picture says a 1000 words, and considering I haven’t posted a blog in a
while, I thought I’d share 3 pictures from each month up until now. If I’ve
done the maths correctly that’s about 18,000 words. So that should put me
in a good place. Enjoy.*

This picture was taken at the start of the program. We’re sitting in a
handmade straw boat in a delightful family run hostel.
I like to look at this picture and think that “we were all in the same
boat” trying to navigate the next 7 months of our lives together.

Marcos, a member of my cohort kindly posing under a lush bamboo walkway. I
did my fair share of edits but I’d say this picture is poppin’.

Breakfast for my first day of work. Took me a while to be able to stomach
rice, chicken, plantains and potatoes for breakfast but now I take it down
like a champ.

*Pijal Alto*

Went to milk the cows way up in the mountains. I sat with my host sister
Angie while my host dad and brother got to work herding them up.

A quick trip to the grandparent’s house for lunch.

When they say trail race, they really mean run up an entire mountain race.
My first ever 16 km trail race.

The night before Dia Del Los Muertos we stayed up till 3:00 am cooking
Guagua de Pan, a bread eaten and sold across the Andes for Day of the Dead.

The clouds were like clockwork. Flowing over the mountains at the same time
every day. I’d wake up early to watch them settle in. My friend took this
of me and I think it turned out pretty nice. To my right is my cowsuit and
the left my crocs. Two of the best investments I’ve made in Ecuador.
