Rihan Shaik
Rihan is nine years old, in fourth grade and his favorite subject is math. He likes to play soccer and Kabbadi. When Rihan grows up he wants to become an engineer, because he likes math. Rihan wants to create airplanes and help make machines that will help make people’s lives easier. He hopes that in the future people’s problems get solved because he wants people to live peacefully.
Rihab Khan
Rihab is ten years old and in fourth grade. Her favorite subject is English. Rihab likes to study, dance and read. She wants to be a flight attendant when she grows up because she likes to travel. Her favorite thing about traveling is getting to try new things and food. Her dreams and hopes for the future are for people who are in need to get help. She would like for there to be education for those who didn’t have the opportunity to go to school. It’s never too late to learn.
Needa Shaik
Needa is in fourth grade, ten years old and her favorite subject is math. Needa likes to play khokho. She wants to be a teacher because she really likes school. Needa believes that education should be accessible to everyone. She’s noticed that a lot people in her country are in need. She hopes that one day all those people get helped because she wants everyone to have the same opportunities she did.
Sufiyan and Rihan Shaik
Sufiyan is ten years old and in fourth grade. Sufiyan’s favorite subject is history and he likes to play soccer and cricket. He wants to be a doctor when he grows up because he wants to help cure those who are starving. Sufiyan has seen a lot people from different age groups in the street begging for food. He wants to help them be healthy because food is essential for the body. He hopes that world hunger ends one day.

He wants help future students become change makers. Through education, people open doors for themselves. He hopes that in the future people will stop mistreating each other.
Subhan Khan
Subhan is in fourth grade and is nine years old. He likes to draw and his favorite subjects are Hindi and Math. Since Subhan was in kindergarten, he’s always liked art. He loves crafting and drawing. Subhan has a passion for art which why he wants to be an art teacher. Subhan thinks that art is an important subject. He would like to help students learn more about it and practice it because art makes him happy and he hopes it makes others happy as well. He hopes that in the future people will help one another without any barriers.
Gausiya Shaik
Gausiya is ten years old and in fourth grade. Her favorite subject is English and she likes to run. She wants to become an engineer because she wants to be someone. Gausiya wants to help out her family. She knows that engineers make a lot of money. Hence is why she wants this career. Her family is her inspiration. She wants the world to be more peaceful.
Abu Bakar
Abu is nine years old and in third grade. His favorite subject is Math and he likes to play soccer. He wants to be a doctor when he grows up. Abu would like to become a dentist. His mother’s teeth aren’t in the best condition. He wants to be able to help her out. His cousin is currently a doctor and he see’s her helping people. He would like to follow her in those footsteps. Abu hopes that in the future people will have equal opportunities.
Izahan Shaik
Izahan is nine years old and in third grade. His favorite subject is English and he likes dancing.He wants to be an engineer when he grows up because he likes creating things. Izahan once create a fan out of paper and added a motor. The motor made the paper fan wing’s turn. He somehow managed to do it on his own. Since then a lot of people tell he should be an engineer. He hopes that in the future poverty will end.
Sana Shaik
Sana Shaik is eight years old. She wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Sana wants to educate those who need it. When her mother was younger she didn’t attend school because she could not afford it. She thinks that this unfair. Sana wants everyone to have a fair shot at education. She hopes that one day there will no one in poverty.
These kids are all in the school where I go teach. The reason that I decided to make profiles of them is because they all have one thing common. They’re all Muslims.
I asked them one more question while creating their profiles.
Imagine you lived in the United States right now. The president doesn’t like Muslims. He wants to get rid of all them. How would you feel? If you had the opportunity to talk to this man and change his mind what would you tell him?
“I’d feel really sad. I would tell the president that we can all share god. There’s no reason to hate us we like to share.”-Rihan Shaik
“I would feel very upset and scared. If I had the chance to talk to him I would tell him that we won’t hurt or disturb anyone to please let us stay.”- Rihab Khan
“I’d be unhappy about this. I would tell the president that our god loves him too.”- Needa Shaik
“I would be sad. I promise that I would do good things and tell him that Muslims aren’t bad people.”- Sufiyan Shaik
“I just don’t understand why he wants to get rid of us. But I would feel sad. I would tell him to please let me stay. I promise to work hard and help the country.”-Rihan Shaik
“I would feel very angry and sad. I’d beg the president to let us stay because it’s already hard enough in other countries to feel welcomed because of our religion.”- Subhan Khan
“I would feel sad because he wants to kick us out. I’d tell him that I am a good person and I wouldn’t hurt anyone.” -Gausiya Shaik
“I would feel very sad. If I could talk to him I would ask why does he want to kick us out? How would that help the country?” -Abu Bakar
“If I lived in the United States and this was happening I would feel very upset and angry. If I could change the president’s mind I would tell him that there’s no difference with the people. We’re all the same and equal. The only difference between us is religion.”- Izahan Shaik
“I’d be really sad. I would ask the president please don’t hate us. Give us a chance please.”- Sana Shaik
