My name is Joseph Wolf, and I am an 18-year-old high school graduate from Pine City, Minnesota. I have been heavily involved with school and local government. I was the senior class president, director on the local chamber of commerce, a student representative on the local planning commission, and a volunteer in my community. I have always had a passion for making a difference in the community in which I live, whether in 4-H, National Honors Society, or volunteering for the Minnesota Historical Society. I also have a passion for traveling and meeting new people. I have traveled to Europe for a band and choir trip, to Chicago for a church mission trip, to Michigan for a leadership camp, and to Europe again for my German class trip. With these experiences already under my belt, I am ready to take on a new challenge, Senegal!
Mahatma Ghandi once said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.” I am so excited to be a part of the Global Citizen Year program. This program will not only change may life, it will help me make a difference in a community on the other side of the world. Being involved in this program will expand my knowledge and influence my perception as I view the world as a whole.
