These past two weeks have been very vocabulary heavy. Learning about things such as social impact, social development, global development, INGO’s, NGO’s, and so on can be very overwhelming. I found myself overwhelmed by the broad themes of these topics and phrases. However, throughout the two weeks, I have seen clear overlaps in these topics, and how they all help the developing world. I have gotten an inside view of all these topics, working with experts such as David Abernethy, or going to places such as Room to Read or Kiva. This experience and knowledge will not only serve me when I go to Brazil, but also beyond.
However, while this is all good stuff, I cannot seem to grasp that this turns from vocabulary to reality in three days. All the things I have learned for the past 18 years lead up to this. The only thing I can do is to take what I have learned and apply it.
