…to my heart. This blog is going to be an extension of all my thoughts, feelings, worries, and joys. I will be posting as much as possible once I depart for ECUADOR! It still hasn’t hit me that I will be living in another country, on another continent so soon. Only days left in the states!
I have been trying my hardest to hold onto everything special at home (eating In N’ Out constantly, seeing friends everyday, enjoying my comfy bed, etc). I have never been so full of conflicting emotions, raging excitement for my new life battling the heartbreak that is leaving everyone I love. Although I am leaving my best friends and family, I will be making new life-long friends and a second family. Although I am leaving my city, my home, and my country, I will get to experience new cities (and itty-bitty villages), find a new home, and become a part-time citizen of a new country. It is a scary thought knowing how much I am going to self-reflect over these next 8 months, looking inside myself and working to grow as a leader and international citizen. But, I can’t wait to see what I can accomplish.
Goodbye reliance, hello independence. I will miss you all tremendously, please stay in touch!
