Our research-backed curriculum and apprenticeships with local organizations will help you explore your place in the world, decipher the systems you aspire to change, and figure out how to get started.

Turn your intent into positive impact

Develop skills for responsible and sustainable action, first through our online Foundations Course and then through hands-on experience working on causes you care about.

Join a global community of changemakers

Tilters explore issues from diverse perspectives together with new friends, mentors, and our onsite team. You’ll discover how your visions for the future connect, expand and inspire, while becoming part of a lifelong alumni network.

Human Rights

Now Credit-Eligible through the University of Pittsburgh

Live, work, and learn in this vibrant multicultural, historically layered city. You’ll apprentice with organizations advancing universal human rights through food security, education, women’s rights, youth empowerment, and services for refugees and migrants.

Earn Academic Credit Through Take Action Lab

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

Students who participate in the semester-length Take Action Lab: Human Rights in Cape Town, South Africa, will be eligible to earn 12 academic credits through the University of Pittsburgh.

This partnership was championed by the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and integrates Tilting Futures’ semester-long apprenticeship and global learning model into an accredited tier 1 university’s curriculum, making it possible to advance your degree while gaining hands-on, real-world experience.

To be eligible, students must submit both the Tilting Futures application and the University of Pittsburgh application and be admitted by both institutions.

Circle of Service in Partnership with the Peace Corps

Completing Take Action Lab opens doors for alumni to expand their global impact through the Circle of Service initiative, in partnership with the Peace Corps.
